Where possible please give us 5 days notice for repeat prescriptions.
Our Dispensary is open
10:00 – 13:00 and 15:00 – 17:30 at Padstow and St Columb Major.
10:00 - 13:00 and 15:00 - 17:00 at St Columb Road
Please help us by collecting your medication between these times. Thank you.
If you are taking regular medications your doctor will give you a repeat prescription form attached to your original prescription. The receptionist will explain how to use this if you’re not sure.
Alternatively, you can order your repeat prescription directly through this site. Click on the link at the top of this page and complete the simple registration form.
Please give 5 days notice when requesting repeat prescriptions.
If you normally collect your prescriptions from one of the chemists, they will be sent down as usual.
If you normally have your prescriptions dispensed then currently this is only available for collection at either Padstow or St Columb Major Surgery.
Due to the rural nature of the practice we are able to dispense medicines for many patients at our surgeries. The doctor or receptionist will tell you if you may collect your medicines at the surgery, or the chemist. There are chemists’ shops in St Columb Major and Padstow.
Please check the surgery opening times page to see when the dispensary is open.
Help with NHS costs
In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:
- those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
- those who are age exempt
- those with certain medical conditions
- More information is available at NHS Choices
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
- Prescription (per item): £9.35
- 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £108.10
- 3-month PPC: £30.25
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
- Telephone advice and order line 0845 850 0030
- General Public - Buy or Renew a PPC On-line
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website.
