Dementia Research

JDRThe NHS Constitution gives all its patients the right to have access to research if medically appropriate for their health needs.

The National Institute for Health Research (the research arm of the NHS) wants to help people make informed choices about taking part in clinical trials by providing the

UK Clinical Trials Gateway www.ukctg.nihr.ac.uk  which provides information about how trials work and links them to researchers conducting studies they might be interested in.

You may also want to promote Join Dementia Research

Join Dementia Research is a free service funded by the Department of Health to enable people diagnosed with dementia, caregivers and healthy volunteers to register their interest in dementia research so that if a research team is recruiting to a study they can approach people who have signed up to Join Dementia Research as potential participants.

Anyone aged 18 years or over can sign up: www.joindementiaresearch.nihr.ac.uk
