We are proud to be a health research practice.
Patients and healthy volunteers who take part in clinical research studies help researchers test and evaluate the effectiveness of prevention, diagnosis and treatments of a wide range of health conditions. This research informs medical advances and is an important part of the process the NHS goes through in making decisions about what health care is provided to the public.
At Petroc Group Practice we want to provide opportunities for our patients to participate in clinical research as part of their healthcare. Research participants say they feel empowered and learn more about their health condition having been on a research study. Some say they feel more assured and supported if they have any concerns or changes in their health because of the regular monitoring and contact they have with the research practice staff. The majority feel good doing something they know may improve the quality of life or save lives of people in the future.
If you would like to discuss whether there is a research study you might be eligible to take part in please speak in the first instance to your GP. OK to ask
